George Holland: Founder and Owner of Skyhook Operators

I got into this business back in 2008, while I was enlisted in the United States Army. My Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was a heavy equipment operating engineer. I was assigned to 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, TX where I served two tours in Iraq during (OIF) Operation Iraqi Freedom between 2008-2009 and 2010-2011.

During my time enlisted I was very fortunate to be assigned at the time only 1 of 4 up armored 50(Ton) Terex truck cranes in the entire Army. After spending many hours in the seat, I found my calling. From that moment on, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life post military.

At 24 years young I was determined to pursue a career crane operating in the real world. I obtained a CDL drivers license and NCCCO certification to get started on my journey. The first company I worked for as a civilian was in Oklahoma City, OK. I worked in crane rental, operating similar cranes I used in the military. Since then, I have traveled and worked in Kansas, South Carolina, North Carolina, California and last but not least, Texas!

Throughout this time period I have obtained multiple certifications for various types of cranes and also rigging and signalman. I have received an extensive amount of safety training from the east to west coast, including OSHA training. To recap, I've been operating hydraulic, lattice boom, and tower cranes for over 13 years in 2 different countries, 6 different states and have enjoyed every minute of it.

Skyhook Operators began my next journey in life. We provide experienced operators to general contractors throughout the gulf coast region in the commercial industry. That success led me to expand with Skyhook Freight, offering reliable transportation solutions for building materials and equipment hauls.

Now, I'm excited to introduce the newest member of the Skyhook family: Skyhook Crane Services. Building on the foundation of our sister companies, Skyhook Crane Services is designed to provide our current and future customers with comprehensive crane solutions, delivering the same reliability and expertise they've come to expect from the Skyhook name across all their lifting and hoisting needs.

Support your Veterans.

God Bless,

George Holland
